The purpose of the Downtown Optimist Club of Evansville is to develop optimism as a philosophy of life utilizing the tenets of the Optimist creed; to inspire respect for law; to promote patriotism and work for international accord and friendship among all people; to aid and encourage the development of youth in the benefit that the giving of one’s self in service to others will advance the well being of humankind, community like and the world. The proceeds from this year's golf scramble will fund projects specifically designed to help children in Evansville and the surrounding area through Holly's House. Holly's House is a non-residential child and adult victim advocacy center. Our mission is to empower victims of intimate crime and abuse by providing support, promoting justice and preventing violence. Our vision is to be a leader in preventing intimate crime​ and supporting victims and their families, while bringing awareness to the community.
